Work Packages

01
Climate effect modelling and uncertainty quantification
-
Extension of algorithmic Climate Change Functions (aCCFs), expanding their geographic scope, accounting for a broader spectrum of weather patterns, and addressing uncertainties from diverse sources, encompassing climate science and meteorology.
-
Assessment of uncertainties related to the estimates of CO2, contrails, NOx-induced ozone, methane, and water vapor climate effects, originating from weather forecasts and climate science
-
Integrating the climate assessment model into a Met service on climate effects, offering rapid climate impact insights for the aviation community.
02
Robust aircraft trajectory optimization
The aim is identifying climate-optimal flight paths that not only minimize environmental impact but also maintain a high level of confidence in their effectiveness.

03
Evaluation of climate-optimized trajectories – Recommendations,
regulatory measures & MET service on climate effects
-
Evaluate the applied climate models/aCCFs and trajectories in different applications including uncertainties and robustness.
-
Analyze implementation of climate-optimized flight planning in the course of regulatory enablers.
-
Inform about climate impact sensitivity in near real time and optimized flight planning mitigation potential.
04
Dissemination, exploitation, and communication
The main objective of this WP is to coordinate all F4ECLIM dissemination, exploitation, communication, and data management activities while ensuring that the different targets have been reached.

05
Project management
The main objective of this work package is to carry out the administration and coordination of the project, while overseeing the execution of the work plan and ensuring the planning of the project research.
